Does anyone have any idea about making a charm for a bracelet or making a pendant for a necklace with a river stone I found ? It is very small… perhaps 0.5 x 1 cm …

Does anyone know the best way to make it a charm ? Do I have to make a hole in it ?
Also, the stone is not round and smooth, it is rough, and the shape of a wolf's head… that is why I find it so interesting !
Do I have to use a jump ring ?

One way to turn a stone into a charm is to use wire wrapping techniques.
-you will need a pair of needle nose pliers (if the pliers have “teeth” wrap the ends of pliers with masking tape to prevent scratching the wire), and round nose pliers.
-You will also need some wire cutters.
- you will need some wire - most craft stores have different sizes and types of wire. Even some hardware store will have aluminum and copper wire. (Just be sure not to get anything with lead in it!)

This site has lots of how to’s and other links:

I’m looking for plain silver/gold plated necklaces for making my own jewellery. I’ve seen some 16″ ones but I was hoping for some 18″ ones.

I’ve found quite a few cute and quirky charms for them but if anyone knows where there are some more I’d be infinitely grateful :)

Thanks in advance.

Most major art stores have a great selection of jewelry making stuff bc its becoming so popular.

Charm bracelets have been popular from as early as 500 B.C., when Assyrians, Babylonians and even Persians wore charms which they associated with special powers.

In recent years gold charms and silver charms are becoming popular once again. Italian Charm Bracelets Italian charm bracelets are slightly different from traditional silver charms or gold charms.

Most charm bracelets are fashioned with the charms dangling from a chain; Italian charm bracelets however, are made with the charms soldered to flat links that can be removed from a stretch bracelet. Italian charm bracelets are a unique and fun twist on the standard charm bracelet because they are dynamic, fun to wear and trendy.

For Italian charm bracelets these sizes are categorized as follows:

Small – includes 17 charm links Medium – contains 18 charm links

Large – contains 19 charm links Traditional Charm Bracelets Traditional charm bracelets are made of a silver or gold chain with charms dangling.

Some of the more common themes and styles of charm bracelets available include: Beach lover themes Victorian style charms Vintage charm jewelry Memoir or locket style charms Silver charms Gold charms Gemstone charms Traditional charm bracelets make superb gifts. Pricing Silver charms and gold charms may run anywhere from $2 all the way up to $2000 depending on the materials the charm bracelets are made from.

The more expensive charms are usually gold charms crafted of 18k gold with diamonds and other precious gems embedded in the charm. Keep in mind that with charm bracelets, you can start with as little as 1 charm or buy into a bracelet that has several charms pre-selected.

Remember that the traditional style holds charms that dangle, while the Italian version has charms that are embedded in chain links.

I want to make a hemp necklaces or a choker and every time i make one i never can get the charm in the middle does anyone know how to get a charm in the middle of the hemp necklaces or choker

Like this one you see how it is in the middle can anyone help me

There are two common ways to do this.

One, get a large jumpring or bail (big enough to slide freely along the necklace once it’s done) and use it to attach your charm. The charm will then slide along the necklace and fall, courtesy of gravity itself, in the center.

Another way takes a little more planning or forethought. Decide how long your necklace is going to be, sans clasp or tie, of course. Then, cut a piece of string or paper half that length. Keep measuring your progress on the necklace. When it gets as long as your paper, add the charm. Continue until the second half of the necklace is as long as the string or paper.
