but my mom wouldnt let me use a drill.
So instead i used an old earing. & it actually worked really well.

Actual plectrums are made from compressed nylon or high quality acrylic. Driling a hole will most definitely cause it to chip or crack. It therefore will not make ideal jewellery.

The best thing to do with be to either laser cut a hole, or to laser cut the entire plectrum shape (which is most what people do as it's cheaper). Try somewhere like LoveBites and Bruises.

Hope this helps! And good luck with your jewellery making! :)
References :
Just put your plectrum down on a scrap piece of wood, then tape it down with masking tape, covering the whole plectrum....making sure you mark where you want the hole to be....then drill gently and slowly using whatever bit size you want the whole to be.
Then just sand smooth.....Done.

PS: Bollox to the thumbs down....it does work....I've done it!!
References :
I've had a plectrum on my keyring for around 10 years.

I drilled it, but that's because it's a fairly soft plastic, if you're worrying about shattering you could always melt a small hole in it, my friend used a soldering iron to make a really small hole in his favourite plectrum, he wears it as a charm round his neck, it looks pretty good .
References :
I turned a plectrum into a charm and it was fine. I just drilled a hole on the tip (with a hand drill, not an electric one) and it didn't shatter or split or anything. Then I threaded it onto a necklace and wore it for years.
