You do not need to …
You do not need to cover the silver with the baking soda; as long as the baking soda is dissolved in the water the reaction will work. Also, multiple washes are not necessary; just leave the silver in the solution longer and the reaction will continue to remove the tarnish.

Worked really well …
Worked really well and was super easy. I used aluminum foil vs. the pan and scrubbed some “missed” areas w/ the foil once I washed it. Came out really well!!!

Thank you for your video. I had seen this demonstration at a show once where the vendor was selling a kit with a piece of aluminum to make the reacation with the water and baking soda. You saved me money and clutter. I used a pyrex dish lined with aluminum foil. The results speak for itself. Thanks again.

You’re probably right about it being more convenient but I think this is more directed towards people interested in a natural way to clean sterling silver. It’s also a good trick while using things that you already have around the house.
